Dr. Katie Irani

Dr. Katie Irani was born and brought up in Mumbai, India. She completed her medical education from Grant Medical College, Bombay University, India. Her filed of medical specialization has been Physical Rehabilitation and Medicine. She has been Associate Professor, Baylor College of Medicine for the last 37 years. She was President of Houston PM&R Society, as well as Chief (Emeritus) of PM&R, Harris County Hospital District. Dr. Irani was also President of the Zorastrian Association of Houston and is very involved in community activities and charitable work. During her younger days, her passion for sports included playing field hockey, badminton, and table tennis. Today, her spare time is devoted to gardening, sewing, readying, and taking dance lessons. She has sparkle in her eyes when she proudly mentions the interview she had with the respected Dalai Lama, in Dharmasala, India many years ago. She is also proud of her two children and six grandchildren.
