As Chief Operating Officer, Kanchan has a very challenging job of running the business smoothly, providing seamless service to clients, doing the accounting, payroll as well as the filing of tax reports. Her main duty is to support Jay and Anasuya in every aspect of the business, and she plays an important role in the decision-making and execution process.
With an undergraduate degree from India, Kanchan came to United States in 1982. She worked for the Drama Department at the University of Houston from 1986 to 1995. At the University of Houston, she instructed and supervised students and staff in the design and production of costumes for the department’s plays. She also designed and produced costumes for some of the leading theaters in Houston such as the Alley Theatre and Stages Theatre. In order to devote more time with her two young children and to provide flexible work hours, Kanchan joined her husband Jay at Jaykay Wealth Advisors Inc in 1995.
Kanchan likes to spend time with Jay, her husband for over 37 years, their children and grandbaby. She continues to retain her passion for the Fine Arts, and she volunteers her time at many community and social organizations. She is invited frequently by many social organizations and non- profits to provide expertise and input in their many social projects. She was the President of the Indian American Cancer Network (IACAN) and currently serves on their Advisory Board. To raise money and awareness regarding cancer, she participates in many half and full marathons including the Chevron Houston Full Marathon, USA Fit Sugar Land Marathon and TCS New York City Marathon. Running and hiking is her passion.
